OK, Chili Heads, here's the deal....
With the Competition entry fee, all teams will be enter in the competition chili, the people's choice and showmanship competitions.
With just the People's Choice entry, teams will be entered in the People's Choice and Showmanship competitions.

Competition Chili
Ya'll read this real careful now.
Teams must file an Entry Form with the Abita River Chili Cook Off Coordinator and the $50 entry fee. Make checks payable to "Town of Abita Springs Chili Off".
Chili teams must arrive at the chili cook off location in time to be prepared to start their Competition Chili preparation by 10 AM. Grounds will be open and registration will begin at 8 AM.
Each team will be assigned a 10' x 10' preparation area.
Teams are encouraged to decorate their area and themselves. A trophy for showmanship will be awarded. (See rules for showmanship)
Teams must supply all chili ingredients, equipment and fuel. No electricity will be available on site. Generators will be allowed.
All preparation for the Competition Chili must be done on site and from scratch. Scratch means starting with raw meat and regular spices. Canned tomatoe and sauce is allowed.
No team will start preparation or cooking before the official signal to start. Beer drinking may begin at any time.
Chili must be prepared out in the open for all to see and as sanitary as possible. (wash your hands!!!)
Hand in time for Compitetion Chili will be 4 hours after the official signal to start.
Each team must provide 2 quarts of chili for the judges to sample. (Bribes are not allowed)
All Competition Chili teams MUST provide 1 gallon of People's Choice Chili. (See People's Choice Rules). Each team will automatically be entered into the People's Choice category.
All registered teams are encouraged to ridicule and otherwise harass other teams in an attempt to make them cry.
